The short version

Alarm Challenge has no account and no server of its own. Your alarms, photos, streaks and history never leave your iPhone. The app does measure how its own features are used, anonymously, and that is the only thing it sends anywhere.

Photos

Photo missions use your camera to check whether the thing you were asked to photograph is in front of you. Frames are analysed on your device as they arrive and are discarded immediately afterwards. No photo is uploaded, transmitted, written to disk, or saved to your photo library.

Recognition

Recognition runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device image classification. Nothing is sent to a recognition service, and the app works with no internet connection at all.

What is stored on your device

Your alarms, mission preferences, completion history, streak, statistics and achievement unlocks are stored in the app's own storage on your iPhone. They are protected by iOS file protection and are removed if you delete the app. You can clear your history at any time from Settings.

Notifications

Reminders are local notifications scheduled by the app on your device. There is no push notification service, and no notification content leaves your phone.

Alarms

Alarms are scheduled through Apple's AlarmKit so they can ring even when your phone is silenced or in Focus. The time and mission text you set are given to iOS to display the alarm.

Location

The app does not require location access and does not request it as part of normal use. If a future feature asks, it will explain why first and will work without it.

Analytics

The app reports anonymous usage events — an alarm going off, a mission finished or swapped, a screen opened, a purchase — to Google Firebase Analytics, so we can see which features work and which do not. Events carry no photographs, no recognition results, no alarm labels, and no exact alarm times, only the hour. There is no account to attach them to and we never set a user identifier.

What analytics cannot see

Firebase assigns a random identifier to each installation. It is not your device's identity, it is not shared with other apps, and it is replaced if you delete and reinstall. The app does not use the advertising identifier and does not link Apple's AdSupport framework at all, so nothing here is used to track you across apps or services.

Turning analytics off

Settings inside the app has a switch called Share anonymous usage. Turn it off and the app stops reporting immediately, and keeps working exactly as before. We are also happy to delete the data held for an installation — write to stores@yesgnome.com and we will remove it.

Third parties

Google Firebase Analytics is the only third-party code in this app. There is no advertising, no crash reporting, and no social logins.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.
